Baur’s Restaurant and Listening Lounge Kicks Off Summer Concert Series with Bayou Bash Featuring Louisiana Zydeco Band The Revelers and Cajun Dinner on Sunday, June 28

Tickets now on sale for all upcoming shows through September

DENVER, Colo., June 24, 2015 – Baur’s Restaurant and Listening Lounge just announced their summer concert series featuring a lineup full of performers ranging from the cajun and zydeco Louisiana roots music of The Revelers this Sunday, June 28 to the blues rocking legend Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen on Wednesday, Sept. 2.

The Bayou Bash on Sunday, June 28 features Cajun swamp pop band The Revelers, and includes a special three course Louisiana-influenced dinner from Baur’s executive chef Robert Grant. The menu includes corn and okra fritters, Baur’s Jambalaya and a selection of homemade miniature ice cream cones. Package tickets for dinner and the show are available at www.masmusic.org

The acoustic, eclectic and authentic summer concert series at Baur’s includes:

• Cajun Zydeco Swamp Pop band The Revelers on Sunday, June 28 – 8pm

• Singer and pianist Leif Vollenbekk on Sunday, July 5 – 8pm

• Bluegrass from MIPSO on Sunday, July 19 – 8pm

• Jazz trombonist and vocalist Natalie Cressman on Sunday, August 2 – 8pm

• Singer songwriter Amy Speace on Sunday, August 9 – 8pm

• Quintessential Scott Cossu Quartet featuring Beth Quist on Sunday, August 16 – 8pm

• Blues legend Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen on Wed, Sept. 2 – 8pm

• Singer songwriter A.J. Croce on Thursday, September 10 – 8pm

• Singer songwriter Jill Sobule on Sunday, November 29 – 7pm

Baur’s most recent performance by pianist Jason Moran, the artistic director of Washington D.C.’s Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, included music from his new album “Elegy – Tribute to Fats Waller,” which was just released on the Blue Note label.

Earlier this month, Baur’s also hosted the return of Ron Sexsmith after 20 years. Sexsmith delighted the Baur’s audience and Music Appreciation Society supporters with a personal appearance at the Sie Film Center the night before for a screening of his documentary Love Shines, and then took to the stage on both piano and guitar playing selections from his new album “Carousel One” on Compass Records and from his previous 13 studio recordings.

Downtown parking is free on Sundays and dinner before or after the concert at Baur’s is not to be missed, featuring Cordillera cuisine with a California influence. The restaurant uses locally-sourced ingredients when available; offers fresh, sustainable seafood flown in from the coasts; and has a unique nose-to-tail charcuterie program.
